Flow control around two side-by-side square cylinders using dual splitter plates

This study systematically examines the influence of length dual splitter plates placed at front and rear sides two side-by-side square cylinders on flow features fluid force reduction. The Reynolds number is kept 150 for all computations, separation ratio plate are varied from 0.5 to 5 1 5, respectively. method investigation single-relaxation-time lattice Boltzmann method. vortex shedding suppression phenomenon occurred due presence plates. It found that increase in influences wake structure increases by stabilizing shear layers before rolling up. also small ratios placing stabilize flow. minimal drag each ratio. Significant reduction forces both cylinders. At optimum position coefficient lower cylinder upper reduced 45 62%, respectively, plate’s 5. Systematic analysis shows not only significantly reduce cylinders, but considerably suppress shedding.
